David Livingston/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Rams have upset one of their legends.
Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson says he will not attend anymore Rams games as long as Jeff Fisher is still the team’s head coach. Dickerson tells the Los Angeles Times that Fisher called him and said he was no longer allowed to stand on the sidelines during the team’s games.
The 56-year-old Dickerson added that he requested sideline passes for friends for the Rams’ game on Nov. 20 against the Miami Dolphins. He says the team told him they were uncomfortable with his public criticism of the organization. Then, Dickerson says, Fisher called him, and said “We’re not going to give you anything”
“You think I’ve been waiting on the Rams to come back to town? That’s not me. People who know me know, I’m not here with my hand out. Do you feel like I owe y’all something? Send me a bill,” Dickerson told ESPN.
Dickerson added that Fisher told him some players feel “uncomfortable” with Dickerson standing on the sidelines.
Fisher has backtracked and said Dickerson was welcome to come back to the sideline. The former Ram, however, says he will remain a fan of the team, but his relationship with the organization will not be the same.
Dickerson played for the Rams from 1983 to 1987 before they moved from Los Angeles to Saint Louis. He is the second-leading rusher in the organization’s history.
