Elinore, a widow with a small daughter named Jerrine, forges a new life in 1909 by becoming a homesteader in Wyoming. Elinore’s life on the homestead is a surprising combination of hard work and self-made joy and leisure. Her letters provide a graphic window into American rural life at the turn of the previous century. In this adaptation, the personal reminiscences of the actresses are woven into the narrative created by Elinore’s letters.
