(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to trade All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans, pending a physical.

The Titans will send their 2022 second-round pick and 2023 fourth-round pick to the Falcons for Jones and a sixth-round pick in 2023.

Jones is a big pick up for an offense that lost its top two receiver’s last year, wide receiver Corey Davis and tight end Jonnu Smith, who left during free agency.

He will join A.J. Brown to form one of the top wide receiver duos in the league. In his first two seasons, Brown recorded 2,126 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.

Jones was the subject of trade talk throughout the offseason as Atlanta dealt with a salary cap situation. He was set to $15.3 million in base salary, but he would have counted as $23.05 million against the cap in 2021 this season.

Trade rumors heated up on May 24 after he told FS1 during a phone call “I’m outta there” when asked by ‘Undisputed’ host Shannon Sharpe if he would be playing for Atlanta next season. It is unclear if Jones knew he was on TV.

Jones leaves the Falcons as their all-time leader in receptions, 848, receiving yards, 12,896, and 100-yard receiving games, 58. He is number one in NFL history with 95.5 receiving yards per game.

The 6th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft played in just nine games last season because of injury. He finished with 51 catches, 771 yards, and three touchdowns.
