Hemera/Thinkstock(DOVER, Del.) — Martin Truex Jr. closed the first round of the Chase the same way he opened it: with a win.
He took the Citizen Soldier 400 at Dover International Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
The Chase field is now reduced from 16 drivers to 12. Aside from Truex, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch and Austin Dillon have advanced.
Round two begins next weekend at Charlotte.
