Heavyweight Champ Tyson Fury Says He's 'Retired' from Boxing

Alex Livesey/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Tyson Fury tweeted Monday morning that he has “retired” from boxing.

In his tweet, the heavyweight champion said the sport is “the saddest thing I ever took part in.”

“I’m the greatest, & I’m also retired,” he added.

It is not yet clear if Fury, 28, will indeed end his career as a boxer.

He had been scheduled to fight Wladimir Klitschko on Oct. 29 but Fury pulled out of the match because he was “medically unfit to fight,” according to his team.

ESPN also reported that Fury failed a drug test recently, testing positive for cocaine.
