Kurt Busch's Crew Chief Fined for Pocono Violation

Allen Kee / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — Kurt Busch’s crew chief has been penalized in connection with a violation last weekend at Pocono Raceway.

Tony Gibson was fined $10,000 and is on probation through the end of the year.

Busch’s No. 41 team suffered the penalty after officials found the right rear quarter panel was modified after race inspection.

The Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono was held on Monday, one day later than originally scheduled, due to rain. Busch finished 10th.

This weekend, the Cup Series will visit the road course at Watkins Glen International. The New York track will host the Cheez-It 355 at The Glen on Sunday afternoon, with USA Network’s coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Kevin Harvick has a 22-point lead over Brad Keselowski atop the point standings entering the race.
