Langhamer Recalled to AHL

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Arizona Coyotes, NHL affiliate of the Rapid City Rush, announced today that Rush goaltender Marek Langhamer has been recalled to the AHL’s Springfield Falcons.  His recall, his second of the season and first to the AHL, comes just moments after the Coyotes recalled Falcons goaltender Louis Domingue to their ranks in the NHL.

Langhamer has enjoyed much success with the Rush since his return from his stint in the NHL, going 4-1-0 in 5 starts with a 1.81 GAA and a SV% of .944.  Langhamer was named the CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week spanning November 23rd-November 29th, winning both of his starts that week against the Idaho Steelheads while allowing only 2 goals on 80 shots faced.  Overall with the Rush this season, he has made 8 starts, and recorded a 5-2-1 record with one shutout along with a 2.23 GAA and an ECHL fourth-best .935 SV%.  The 21 year-old rookie and native of Moravska Trebova, Czech Republic, was a standout with the WHL’s Medicine Hat Tigers for three seasons and was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#184).

The Rush square off with former CHL rivals, the Quad City Mallards, for the first time since Game 7 of the 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs Central Division Semifinals series back in April this Friday and Saturday, December 11th and 12th.  Both games are slated for a 7:05 p.m. MST puck drop.  The December 12th contest features the Rush’s 8th Annual Teddy Bear Toss, with all bears going to Youth and Family Services.
