NASCAR Star Stopped for Speeding, On the Way to a Race

Allen Kee / ESPN Images(FORT WORTH, Texas) — He can’t slow down — it’s in his blood.

ESPN reports that two-time Daytona 500 winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. was driving just a little too fast on his way to watch the AAA Texas 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway Sunday morning — fast enough to be pulled over for speeding in Fort Worth.

He didn’t get a ticket, but fiancée Amy Reimann tweeted a picture of a police officer giving him a warning, writing, “My little speed racer.”

Later, when asked on Twitter how fast he was going, Earnhardt responded, “Not fast enough.”

Earnhardt’s sitting out the season after he experienced concussion-like symptoms over the summer, but intends to return for the start of next season at the Daytona 500.
