NBA All-Star Game Starters Announced, Westbrook Left Off

Allen Kee / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — The NBA All Star starting rosters were announced Thursday night, with one big surprise. Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is not one of the starters for the Western Conference Team, losing the fan vote tiebreaker with Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry and Houston Rockets guard James Harden.

The NBA implemented a new voting system this year, which including players and media. Fans coutned for 50 percent of the vote to determine the starters, while current players and the media counted for 25 percent each.

Joining Curry and Harden as Western Conference All-Star starters are Warriors’ forward Kevin Durant, San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard and New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis.

In the East, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, guard Kyrie Irving, Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Toronto Raptors center DeMar DeRozan start.
