Tony Romo Says Dak Prescott Has 'Earned the Right' to Be Cowboys QB

Scott Clarke / ESPN Images(DALLAS) — Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Tony Romo has thrown his support behind rookie starter Dak Prescott.

In a news conference Tuesday, he said Prescott had “earned the right to be our quarterback” as the Cowboys lead the NFC East 8-1.

Romo added that he wanted to be playing on the field, and admitted he was in a “dark place” at the moment.

“If you think for a second I don’t want to be out there, you probably have never felt the pressure of competing and winning,” Romo said at the news conference.
