Photo by Zachary Scheffer/Getty Images(SEATTLE) — U.S. soccer star Clint Dempsey is being evaluated at a Seattle-area hospital on Friday after experiencing an irregular heartbeat.
Dempsey’s condition was announced by his club team, the Seattle Sounders, who said that the striker would be held out of their matchup against the Portland Timbers on Sunday. Dempsey, 33, tallied eight goals and two assists for the Sounders this season.
In addition to playing for the Sounders in Major League Soccer, Dempsey has made 130 career appearances for the USA men’s national team, scoring 52 goals.
