We’d love to invite you to cover a joyful, community-driven story happening Sunday, February 8 in Rapid City — celebrating a local shelter puppy who’s gone from rescue to the national spotlight.
The Humane Society of the Black Hills, in partnership with Cohort Craft Brewery, is hosting a Puppy Bowl Watch Party, Adoption Event, and Fundraiser featuring Calamity Jane (CJ) — a husky mix and Puppy Bowl XXII participant who will be appearing in person.
This event offers strong visuals and feel-good storytelling, including:
- CJ meeting the public after her Puppy Bowl appearance
- Adoptable shelter dogs on site
- The debut of a limited-release beer can featuring CJ’s face and logo
- A family-friendly adoption and fundraising event benefiting local shelter animals
- A book available for purchase chronicling CJ’s journey from rescue to Puppy Bowl star
CJ is also currently up for adoption, with a thoughtful essay-based process to ensure the best possible forever home — a unique and responsible approach that highlights ethical adoption in the spotlight.
