The Special Rodeo will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the Kjerstad Event Center-Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City. Participants are invited to come enjoy rodeo activities that are accommodating to individuals with disabilities of all ages. Each participant will be partnered with a “rodeo buddy” to assist during the rodeo.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
- 9:15 a.m. – Check-in
- 10 a.m. – Special Rodeo (Activities include: Riding and non-riding events)
- 11:30 a.m. – Pictures & Lunch
DETAILS:
- Event is FREE.
- Events include: horseback rides (therapy horses provided), stick horse barrel races, dummy roping, goat ribbon pull, and miniature horse painting.
- Each participant and volunteer will receive a t-shirt.
- Each participant will receive a trophy.
- We encourage friends and family to video or take pictures of the event, but we will also have a photographer on site.
- This event is open to all individuals with disabilities.
- Walkers and wheelchairs are allowed in the arena.
- Please wear tennis shoes or boots (no open toed shoes, flip flops, sandals, etc.).
