Hemera/Thinkstock(FORT WORTH, Texas) — Carl Edwards and his #19 Toyota took the checkered flag Sunday night in the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Edwards grabbed the lead and held on to it in lap 258 for his third Sprint Cup Series win this season, and earning him an automatic spot in the Championship 4 finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway NoV. 20. He joins last weekend’s winner at Martinsville, Jimmie Johnson, as the only other driver who’s locked up a spot in the finale.
