LeBron James Becomes First Cavaliers Player to Score 20,000 Points

Allen Kee / ESPN Images(CLEVELAND) — Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James made history for his team Sunday night.

In the 107-91 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder, James became the first Cavs player to score 20,000 points for the franchise.

“I’m blessed I’ve played with some great teammates in this uniform the last three years and obviously my first seven in the league,” he said according to ESPN.

James credited his teammates who “work their tails off” for his record.

“Like tonight they block shots and let me get out in transition and assisted me,” he said Sunday. “It’s pretty cool.”

Zydrunas Ilgauskas is the Cavalier’s second-leading scorer with 10,616 points, almost half of James’, according to ESPN.
