ABCNews.com(NEW YORK) — Donald Trump says he supports three debates with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, but he has a problem with the times.
“It’s against two NFL games,” he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “I got a letter from the NFL saying this is ridiculous. Why are the debates…cause the NFL doesn’t wanna go against the debates. Cause the debates are gonna be pretty massive from what I understand.”
An NFL spokesman disputed Trump’s claim that a letter was sent complaining about the scheduled dates.
“We did not write a letter but we obviously prefer the debates on a different night than scheduled games,” the NFL spokesman said in a statement to ABC News.
