Ottawa Senators' Zack Smith Signs New Contract

Kirk Irwin/Getty Images(OTTAWA) — NHL forward Zack Smith has signed a four-year, $13 million contract to stay with the Ottawa Senators through the 2020-21 season.

The 28-year-old Saskatchewan native, who is in his final year of a four-year deal with the team, addressed his new contract via the Senators Twitter account writing, “I’m very happy to get this done and I’m looking forward to the future here in Ottawa.”

 

 

Smith was drafted by the Senators in the third round (No. 79) of the 2008 NHL draft. He set career highs last season in goals (25), points (36), and shooting percentage (20.7) in 81 games last season according to the NHL.
