Reports: Billy Butler, Yankees Reach Deal on Contract

Don Feria/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Free agent Billy Butler will reportedly be taking the field for the New York Yankees.

The first baseman and designated hitter, who was released by the Oakland Athletics this past weekend, has agreed on a contract with the Yankees, multiple reports say.

Butler, 30, had been with the A’s since he signed with the team in November 2014. Prior to that, he played for the Kansas City Royals.

So far in his career, he has a .289 batting average with 146 home runs and 724 RBIs.
